Advanced Trader Forex Platform

advanced_forexAdvanced Trader is one of the most preferred trading platforms for desktops and mobile devices. Although it is not as popular as MetaTrader 4/MetaTrader5, cTrader or ActTrader, it is still used by a large number of Forex brokers.

If you’ve been participating in the Forex market for a while, then you’ve probably noticed that most brokers offer several types of trading platforms. It is needless to say that MetaTrader 4 is offered by almost every broker but Advanced Trader is quickly gathering pace and gaining more and more popularity. In fact, this platform doesn’t lack any of the features of MetaTrader 4, but since it is newer it will have a hard time beating its competitors.

Despite this fact, Advanced Trader offers some interesting features that will be appreciated by most traders. It boasts a flexible and user-friendly interface that is easy to understand and use. Moreover, it comes with various educational videos and tutorials that help investors familiarize themselves with its features and functions. Advanced Trader is constantly improved by developers which is why many experts believe it has a bright future ahead of it. Since the platform is free, it can be used by any broker out there.

This software has some useful features – FX Insider Data Feed, Charting Tools, statistics, etc. We strongly recommend giving Advanced Trader a try, especially if you are new to the Forex market. This platform is perfect for both beginners and advanced users because it combines a simplified and fluid interface with sophisticated tools and features.

What Is Advanced Trader?

advanced trader platformAdvanced Trader is proprietary software developed by one of the world’s leading brokers, Swissquote. This is a Swiss investment bank that has two main divisions for trading – a Swiss unit for trading stocks, funds, options and futures and a unit based in the UK, which offers CFDs (contracts for difference) and Forex. Built with UK traders in mind, Advanced Trader focuses on trading Forex pairs but it is also suitable for those who want access to stock indices and commodities from all around the world.

The platform features a highly customizable interface that allows traders to set up their preferences, add or remove instruments, personalize the charts, etc. After being updated, Advanced Trader now offers traders to open a position using one of three possible methods – the trading box, placing an order or trading directly from the chart. There are many customizable settings and the platform is available in several languages, including English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, and Arabic.

It can be downloaded on desktops – for Windows, Mac or Linux-based systems, but traders can also use the web version of the platform or download the mobile app for iOS or Android. Moreover, the broker offers demo accounts and demo versions of Advanced Trader.

Financial Instruments

advanced trader financial instrumentsWith Advanced Trader, investors can trade more than 100 financial instruments directly on the interbank market. Compared to other software platforms, this system offers quite a limited range of around 130 tradeable symbols but after all, its main focus is the foreign exchange market. For those who wish to trade Forex, the platform has a great offering of roughly 80 currency pairs, including all major ones – EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/JPY, USD/CHF, EUR/JPY, and many more.

Traders can choose from various precious metals such as gold, silver, platinum, and palladium. The platform offers over a dozen tradeable symbols in this category. It also provides traders with the option to trade CFDs on roughly 20 commodities – forward contracts on US crude oil, UK crude, natural gas, heating oil, US copper, synthetic on crude oil, and many more.

Additionally, Advanced Traders allows clients to trade on the movements of some of the most popular European, American, and Japanese stock indices right now in the form of contracts for difference (CFDs). Most of these index CFDs are available both as forwards (with an expiration date) or spots/synthetics (no expiration date, overnight rollover/swap interest applies). The range of CFDs includes Dow Jones (#DJ30MY), S&P 500 (#SP500MY), Forward US Tech 100 (#NAS100MY), DAX as Spot Germany 30, etc.

Analysis and Charts

advanced trader chartsThe charting capabilities of Advanced Trader would satisfy most traders, although professionals may find them insufficient for really advanced trading. The platform comes with 27 built-in indicators – relative strength index (RSI), Heikin-Ashi bar, candlesticks, Stochastic oscillator, and moving average convergence divergence (MACD). It also has 17 different overlays Parabolic SAR, Ichimoku, and Bollinger Bands.

All chart settings, overlays, and indicators can be adjusted from the upper toolbar. Of course, several indicators can be added. There is also an Annotations bar that allows you to set up reminder icons, add lines and more indicators, etc. Here, traders can also create alerts. From the lower toolbar for the main chart, they can save the changes they have made to the chart, export the file, or print it.

As you can see, traders have great options when it comes to customizing the charts and picking those tools and indicators they feel most comfortable with. Combining different indicators, they can also change their trading strategy based on the trends they can notice and analyze. Another great feature of Advanced Trader is its integration with live news feeds by Bloomberg and Swissquote.

Advanced Features

advanced trader featuresAs suggested by its name, Advanced Trader was originally designed to offer traders a wide range of advanced features. Overall, it manages to keep this promise although it is not as complex as other brands of highly Most traders, especially those who are new to Forex and CFD trading, would probably prefer to open positions either from the trading box as this is the simplest method or to trade from the chart because this is the most intuitive way. Experienced traders, however, would probably settle for the other option – they will want the advanced features of the Place Order menu.

Once they open the Order window, they can customize the order by choosing its duration – whether it should be good till canceled (GTC) or good for the day (GFD, until 23:00 CET). In addition, traders can take advantage of the contingent orders to protect their profits with Take Profit and Stop Loss options or make the highest possible profits by selecting a Trailing Stop order. Advanced Traders has several unique order types, i.e. Order Cancels Other (OCO, which combines a stop order and a limit order), If done (a two-legged order), and a combination of If done and OCO.

Another great feature of Swissquote’s Advanced Trader is the automatic pattern detection, which saves time analyzing charts. It can detect and then highlight the 17 most common
chart patterns. The pattern strength is indicated by the darkness of the highlight shade. This feature would be useful for less experienced traders who are still struggling to detect different patterns and trends. Of course, advanced traders would also use it to save time.

Mobile Trading

advanced trader mobileOne of the best aspects of using Advanced Trader is, of course, its mobile application. It can be downloaded for free from the Swissquote website, from the App Store or Google Play. The broker offers equally good versions for Android and iOS, which provides all the features of the desktop platform in a clear and simple interface for mobiles.

The app is very fast and intuitive, while the mobile design allows instant access to all major sections of the trading platform. It is also fully functional, offering both demo and live accounts, easy sign-up, account management, and live quotes. Traders can actively manage their positions, customize the charts, and take advantage of the various advanced tools and features available in Advanced Trader.

The mobile version of the platform gives access to Advanced Trader’s full selection of instruments, including nearly 80 currency pairs. There are also built-in tutorials, user guides, and other educational tools. Some of the features of the app are freely accessible – the live prices, charts, and webinars can be opened even without a trading account.
